REFUND?

Wondering if you’ll get a refund from Washington because of Trump’s tariffs? Don’t hold your breath! Corporations may benefit from those refunds, but what about you and me? We’re not getting a dime back!

Maybe it’s time to revisit the spirit of the Boston Tea Party, when ordinary Americans stood up against unfair taxation. Back then, Americans protested being taxed without proper representation. Today, hardworking Americans are left wondering why they’re paying the price for tariffs while corporations stand to benefit from the refunds.

Let’s not forget that corporations aren’t the only ones who paid the price. American consumers did, too! Higher costs hit our household budgets, our grocery bills, and our everyday purchases. If corporations receive refunds for tariffs they paid, shouldn’t American consumers who ultimately bore some of those costs deserve consideration, too?

This is what makes the situation so infuriating. It raises a serious question about whose interests this administration is really protecting. Is it the American people who are struggling to make ends meet, or the powerful corporations whose support Trump wants to keep?

The Boston Tea Party was about standing up against unfair taxation. Maybe it’s time we reminded Washington that the American people still deserve a voice, fair treatment, and a government that puts them first.

When big business comes first, and ordinary Americans are left footing the bill, something is seriously wrong with that picture.
