Celebrating Easter, not the commercial holiday itself, but the Easter message is, in my opinion, the only truth that makes any sense and gives my journey through life credibility and purpose. After all, when I compare the alternative I’d really hate to think that I was nothing more than a test tube specimen for some demonic pleasure. If all that I believe about Jesus is nothing more than a fairy tail then someone has sure played a sick joke … a very cruel and demonic sick joke. However, I am persuaded otherwise.
As for myself, my mind cannot comprehend that there isn’t more to what journey I now take. When comparing, life eternal vs. eternal death, the later seems all to shallow and way to empty for my reality to grasp. This life is not the final journey, but only the beginning! Therefore, the message of Easter literally gives me hope that in the end, when it’s all done and said, I will live again. Not in this life form, but in glory, and with the Man that loved me so much He took my life and nailed it to the cross … I was forgiven so that my journey here will not be in vain.
Thus I conclude with conviction ... I believe in the Easter message! Why? Because it touches me in a way that no other story does. Reality is, life at times can really suck! I mean illnesses, diseases, the loss of loved ones, this isn’t reality … this is murder of the highest order. And personally I just can’t help but believe that a day is coming when my current reality will be transformed, my tears will be wiped away and I will be in paradise with Him.
Yes, Easter’s message is alive with truth and hope ... the stories of my Jesus is no joke. He was born and He died for my salvation ... this is my current reality as well as the reality to come. I hope it's the same for you.
