It's been two weeks since leaving South Carolina. The journey north to New Jersey was meet with a great deal of apprehension and mixed emotions. However, I believe my decision to leave Myrtle Beach and move to Wildwood was a positive one and thus far I have no regrets.
J'me's entrance into my life was totally brought on by an unfortunate encounter. Had his first encounter not made him uncomfortable it is highly probable we would have never met. Anyway, meanwhile I had sent J’me an email expressing my desire to meet and upon escaping his host he checked his email, found my message, and after a few message exchanges we agreed to meet.
Since John’s passing, the majority of encounters I had were either lacking substance or a mistake. However, meeting J'me was entirely different. Unlike other encounters my feelings for J'me was like the first day I meet John ... J'me totally captured my undivided attention. And from that moment forward we began discussing the possibility of developing a friendship.
As weeks passed our discussions turned more serious ... we both came to the point where we were wanting more than just a hook-up and more than just a friendship … we both concluded we were ready to undertake a long lasting partnership. And after much soul searching and lengthy conversations we concluded it was time to consummate our relationship by my moving to Wildwood.
For the past two weeks J'me has allowed me to transition comfortably and the time together has allowed our relationship to deepen to where I can now say that I have fallen in love with him and am looking to spend what life is allowed us together.
I will admit that life is much different here in New Jersey. Nonetheless, I’m adapting to the change in pace and life-style. Here in Wildwood, due to it being off season, life is much slower and very quiet. The streets are empty and most business and hotels/motels are closed till spring. Meanwhile, we are debachelorising (ok, not a real word … LOL) J’me’s apartment and he has been introducing me to his family and circle of friends, as well a touring the area. From Christmas Eve forward, life has been busy and I have thoroughly enjoyed all that has transpired since being here.
In conclusion, though I horribly miss my friends in South Carolina, the long standing plan (six years to be exact) to leave the south has come full circle. Originally my choice destinations was either return to California or Georgia. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever entertain moving north, specially New Jersey. But in so doing, I have no regrets and my journey here is now well underway.
Until Tomorrow ...
