11.1.13

I'm sure we all agree that our freedom of speech is one of America's most sacred principles which makes this country great. Though we may not agree or accept what one may say, that individual has every right to voice their views. To deny this right simply because we don't agree with them violates the very principle of the First Amendment.

The unfortunate development in today's America isn't the fact that we deny free speech, but we ostracize those we don't agree with. For example; Reverend Louie Giglio, who believes that homosexuality is a sin was withdrawn from offering a pray at the upcoming Obama inauguration simply because the LBGT community disagreed with his stand on homosexuality.

If we start ostracizing those we don't agree with then we surrender our rights to free thought and speech, thus the First Amendment becomes nothing more than insignificant ideology.

In the case of Reverend Giglio, what the LBGT community is doing is silencing their opposition purely on the basis of disagreement and denying him the right to be apart of the American fabric which entails his right to believe how he chooses is totally unacceptable!

The LBGT community is pushing for tolerance, inclusion and acceptance. If they really desire these three principles then they need to seriously practice what they preach.

It is totally unreasonable, as well as unrealistic for the LBGT community to expect everyone to agree with its life-style. And to silence and ostracize their "opponents" simply because they disagree with their beliefs smacks against what the LBGT community seeks to achieve.

Sadly, the LBGT community is becoming a mirror image of their oppressors. And if this trend continues then to expect tolerance, inclusion and acceptance will be nothing more than an illusive dream that will never become a reality simply because of their inability to be, first and foremost, equally as tolerant.

Tolerance works both ways. If it's only a one way street then in truth there is no tolerance to be had or given. In saying this, I believe that Reverend Giglio should be allowed to offer his inaugural prayer and it's unfortunate that he is being denied being a part of the American process which we hold dear. Shame on you LBGT!
