About gun control ...

I don't believe that the government is trying or will attempt to remove guns from our homes. This argument falls short of all reasonable thinking simple due to the second amendment.

I do, however, believe that anyone who owns or purchases a gun should be licensed and that license renewed, say, every two years. And at the time of license renewal undergo gun safety training and be medically evaluated as to ones competency to retain their gun license. If they fail the competency test then they should have their license revoked and guns removed from their possession for, say, one year, after which they can reapply for gun ownership.

Yes, outlawing gun ownership is totally unacceptable. But I do believe that we should have a reasonable dialog as to how we should control ownership, particularly on the types of guns one can own. After all, do we really need more than one gun? Having an arsenal of guns in any ones possession is, in my opinion, questionable, if not ridiculous. After all, it only takes one bullet to do enough damage, even kill.
