To my sister, Mary,

Though our lives have taken two very different journeys, which throughout most, and by no fault of our own, we've never fully gotten to know each other, I want you to know that in spite of missed opportunities you were always tucked away in my heart.

But not all is lost! Life has a way of coming full circle.

Over the past six years God has turned all those missed opportunities into new ones by allowing you and I to open the windows of our lives so that we might get a glimpse into the individuals we've become.

The sister I have come to know is a survivor amid the storm and illness, strong in faith, abundantly gracious and generous. I am a lucky brother, humbled in knowing that having you as my sister is truly a gift from God.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for being the individual you have become, for opening your heart to me and accepting me for who I am, and for loving me unconditionally. And, last but not least, I want to wish you, Mary, a very Merry Christmas.

Love,
Your Brother, Philip
