It felt like I was having a heart attack!
Headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sweating, tingling and numbness in both arms, pain in both legs, and chest pains landed me in the emergency room Tuesday morning. By afternoon I was admitted to the cardiac ward at Conway Medical Center.
After spending the night being monitored, test results relating to my heart came back negative … thankfully, my heart is ok. However, as a precaution, within the next two days I must return to Conway Medical Center to undergo a stress test.
Prior to being discharged my admitting physician and I had a serious talk. I informed him as to what is going on in my life, particularly concerning my financial situation; i.e. lack of hours at work, looking for a new job, my eviction, etc.
As for a diagnosis, I experienced a mild nervous breakdown associated with acute stress.
Upon discharge my physician was clearly concerned about my situation and the affect it’s having on my health. His main concern; I having another heart attack. Thus, He urged me to try and relieve the stressful situation I’m in and that I must follow up with my own physician who is in a better situation to help me out. Meanwhile, if my symptoms reoccurs, I’m to return to the emergency room immediately.
Concerning my eviction, it’s still ongoing. Thankfully, God has been working on this by allowing me to remain where I'm at. After all, if the landlord wanted, he could have had me out a long time ago. However, as to how much longer he'll keep putting things off, I don’t know. After the conversation I had with him last evening, I’m sure he’s going to try and speed up the eviction.
As for resigning my position with Kmart, I have not done so. Instead, I changed my availability so I can find another part-time position. Currently, I’ve submitted my resume to several prospective employers. I’ve received a response from one company who is currently doing a background check. If it comes back clean, which I know it will, then they will call me in for an interview.
As for finding assistance, I’ve been hard at work calling, emailing and talking with agencies and churches. Thus far it hasn’t gone well. But I’m not going to give up. For the remainder of this week I’ll be home which will give me time to continue saving my home.
Out of everything that’s going on, the thing I hate most is having to take time off work, specially today. Had I been able to work today it would have been a time and a half day which would have been sweet on my upcoming check. But I’m not to return to work until I’m cleared by my doctor. I tell ya, if it’s not one thing it’s another! Since Kmart offers me no benefits I don’t have sick days I can use. Can we say when it rains, it pours? Nonetheless, I’m determined and with God’s help the kids and I are going to be ok. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated.
Until Tomorrow …
