One of the hardest things in life is to forgive. Natural instinct is to get even ... make them pay for the pain they caused. More often than not, turning the other cheek is the last thing on most of our minds. But the truth of the matter is; there's a good reason behind turning the other cheek.
First and foremost, it turns your focus away from the wrong done and doer. In so doing, it releases the negative energy surrounding the impact the wrong done and provides emotional freedom to pursue more important issues at hand. Secondly, turn the wrong doer over to your Higher Power ... trust me, He'll take care of them. After all, karma sucks! One day the perpetrator will have to account for their actions and the pain it brought your way.
Life's way to short to carry someone else's burden of quilt on your shoulders. Getting even only continues the burden. Forgiving the wrong done releases you from there quilt and brings emotional freedom to be the better person you were meant to be.
Oh, one last thought. Now if someone beats the hell out of you, yeah, kick ass! ... LOL
