Word has come that tomorrow, Thursday, there will be a meeting in Charleston, SC., to discus Kmart's reorganization plans. It is also being said that this reorganization plan will call for lay offs. As to who and how many could loose their jobs is uncertain. Needless to say, this is not good news!

Course, for me, this really isn't a total surprise. First of the year, Sears Holdings called for the closing of several Sears and Kmart stores across the country. The closings pertained mainly to Sears sprinkled with some Kmart stores. And as the closings were becoming a reality all of us at the Conway Kmart store questioned the security of our jobs to which we were assured they were secure. However, it now seems that this assurance was a bit premature.

I just hope that cuts will not be deep and that I will survive this reorganization.
