A Beautiful Day For An ER Visit
Woke up this morning in PAIN!
Between my right shoulder and lower back I was in some kind of pain this morning. Anyway, I got up, brewed my coffee, downed two pain pills and two hours later I was still reeling in pain. Don’t know if the cold night air coming through my open window that had anything to do with it, but I tell you what, I was not in any sort of mood other than bitchy, so I went back to be thinking that maybe if I just relaxed I would feel better … NOT!
I got up from my two hour nap, got dressed, and while walking into the living feel to my knees in excruciating pain … that’s all it took. I called 911 and had them take me to the emergency room where they immediately administered morphine … thank GOD! Thirty minutes later I was feeling no pain!
Since I’d had cortisone injections and they haven’t helped, it was decided that I should see a Chiropractor. Once on the table they applied what felt like Bengay and a warm moist blanket on my back for about an hour. Once that was removed the doctor came in, placed his hands on back and began applying short quick pressure up and down my spin … POP, POP, POP! I tell you what, the relief was almost instantaneous! After several more pops I was sent home with instructions to wear a back brace and not lift for at least 24 hours. By late afternoon my mood and back was MUCH better.
After my back fiasco, my buddy and I hung out for a while … it was good to see him. He’s been really busy this week … thank god! Anyway, we had dinner at Denny’s, did some plant shopping at Lows, and he helped me with some errands that I need to get done. It was a nice ending to what started out as a physically bad day and it was such a beautiful day at that.
Well, I’m exhausted!
Until Tomorrow ...
