If you expect the best,
you must give your best.
Live by example
and life will reward you.

Well, it's done!

Last Wednesday bullet six was dripped into my bladder. I tell you, trying to urinate behind a catheter and chemo ain’t a bit fun! As a matter of fact, it burns like hell! Not to be awfully graphic, but it feels like your urinating sand and it is the most uncomfortable sensation. It just makes you not want to pee for the rest of the night Then there’s the bleeding which is pretty gross, nausea, cramping, headache, and the worst part ... fatigue, that follows. Anyway, I am so happy that my weekly treatments are done and my jewels can regain its normal routine.

My next appointment, instead it being twelve weeks, will be in six weeks. I will have my urine tested and they will schedule my next cystoscopy. If everything looks good following the cysto, which I pray it will, then I will begin my second phase where I will undergo four treatments over the course of a year. All in all, I have twenty-two months of treatments remaining which I’ll gladly endure. Instead of being sick on a weekly basis, I’ll be sick for one week every four months. Trust me, I’ll take it! Being sick every week has taken a toll on me and I look forward to getting life back to where I’m energetic and feeling great once again … I hate being sick!

I want to thank all of you who have kept me in their thoughts and prayers. And I want to send a shout out to my good friend George who has accompanied me to my treatments, as well as made sure I ate well. He has certainly been a great help and I appreciate all that he has done … thank you George!

In conclusion, I want to thank my employer for working with me by making sure I was scheduled off on my treatment days, for allowing me to leave work early because I wasn't feeling good. And for allowing me to take a day off because I couldn't get out of bed … Kmart has done me well.

Until Tomorrow ...
