Missing Link-Part II*
The most desirable relationship would be one in which I am unconditionally accepted for who I am … nothing less, nothing more. I’m not looking for anyone to change me. All I bring to the table is me! … the good, the bad, and sometimes the naughty. As for the other individual, I would expect the same. A relationship is the bringing together of two very different individuals and within that inner action form a bond of absolute friendship and companionship. For me, companionship is love personified! There is no greater love!
What I don’t want in a relationship is dishonesty. I believe that honest transparency should be the foundation of a personal relationship. If one is transparent then the qualities that include such attributes as honesty, reliability, and consistency can never be questioned or challenged. Without these three attributes the companionship is certain to splinter and the friendship collapse. Companionship is based on nothing more than trust.
And last but not least, and as corny as this may sound, I don’t want to label my companionship as either gay or straight. Being gay or straight doesn’t define the individual's or the relationship. Are there differences? Sexually, yes! But other than that, each individual are like any other, individual souls … what goes on behind close doors is insignificant and no bodies business. Companionship is solely about two individuals sharing life’s journey … nothing more and nothing less!
Sure I know and understand that there will be times when the companionship will be challenged … there is no such thing as the “perfect” relationship. We are two human beings who are subject to issues that affect the way we think, act and live. Therefore, to even dream of that “perfect” person is a total waist of life. When we love each other, the imperfections become inconsequential. Because sometimes, those imperfections can be a blessing. And that’s what companionship is all about … Being a blessing in someone’s life.
To be continued.
