Update As of 2pm Today
The weather has been interesting here in Myrtle Beach.

This year we had a fairly decent spring. Actually, it seemed longer than usual … lasting through June. Typically, once May rolls around we would be experiencing Summer like weather … hot and humid. But not this year. Instead, it seemed as if we had an extended spring.

Now, July was brutal! The entire month we roasted with temperatures reaching well into the upper 90s, and when mixing in the humidity factor we heated up well over 100 plus degrees. If I’m not mistaken, we had a few days or a few weeks where temperatures reached well into 112-113 degrees. Thank goodness for a/c because if you didn’t have air conditioning life would have been unbearable. I live in a mobile home and my a/c unite ran none-stop, specially between the hours of 1 and 6 pm.

Once August rolled around the weather drastically changed. It’s as if fall had arrived. Typically, the heat wave we had in July would continue, however this year it feels as if we having fall-like weather. And this year we getting an unusual amount of rain. Safe to say that its been a warm and soggy month.

Oh, let me not forget the bugs. Oh my goodness, the bug population has exploded to the point where you can’t go outside without spraying yourself down with repellant. The reason for our pesky bug problem is due to not having a cold winter. I tell ya, where I live, which is along the water way, you don't dare step outside without protection otherwise you will get eaten alive, literally!

As we head into September, well, our hurricane season will begin to intensify. As of right now, Isaac is churning down in the Atlantic heading towards the U.S. According to the weather channel, as Isaac nears the U.S. it will be a category one hurricane which is really not a major threat. Hopefully, Myrtle Beach will dodge the bullet again this year. I tell ya, we've been lucky!

Stay turned!
