The axe is beginning to fall. Full-time and created positions are being eliminated. Those who are being let go are given severance pay and can reapply for a part-time position. Thus far, one individual at my store has been laid off. More layoffs are certain to come.

Today everyone was chatting about it, comparing notes and rumors, and nervous about their continuing employment possibilities.

Since I was reclassified as part-time I’m not as concerned of being layoff. However, my position was created, thus the position could be eliminated.
