"I myself am made entirely of flaws,
stitched together with good intentions."

Since my last Journal posting life has been moving along at a smooth pace. I’m still in my soul searching mode which has shown me where changes are either taking shape or with a conscience effort are being made by me. Needless to say, some amazing insights, mostly good and some not so good, have come to light, and I am working through each of them with the help of my therapist. I can say this; my season of reflection has been a cleansing experience and to some degree heart braking. Nonetheless, it’s timing couldn’t have come at a better time.
On the medical front, I’ve had my annual Cardio check up and underwent a nuclear stress test. The results … the lower portion of my heart isn’t getting enough oxygen. However, over all I’m in pretty good shape providing I stop smoking. My Cardiologist gave me a stern warning; “Either stop smoking or undergo another open heart surgery in two years or drop dead in five”. Will have to truly work on this one!
Well, my reprieve from Chemotherapy has been enjoyable. Needless to say, I haven’t missed it at all. But next Wednesday the vacation ends … I’ll be seeing my Urologist to begin round two of my treatments. I just hope and pray that during this down time the treatments received will have been the magic bullet that is supposed to conquer the cancer. If so, round two won’t be as intense as the first. If not, well, at this time I’m not going to think down this line of thought. I am remaining optimistic!
In closing, I know that some will disagree with me, but I am elated that we (America) captured and killed Bin Laden! Yes, I disagree with the taking of life. However, in this instance, Bin Laden has purposely murdered thousands of innocent people and devastated lives of countless others, thus with all that I believe in, the killing of this mass murder was justified. With the killing of Bin Laden, this world has one less dictator and one less religious fanatic to deal with. No, with Bin Laden out of the picture it isn’t going to end the plotting and executing of mass murders in the future. It is going to happen! Therefore, it will be up to each of us to be vigilant in order to prevent his followers and others to bring death and destruction to innocent people around the world.
Until Tomorrow ...
