With help from family and friends, by this weekend I will be purchasing a car. In making preparations to transfer the title into my name I been on the phone and internet getting quotes for auto insurance and two things stick out in my mind which really grabs my ass. Uninsured motorist insurance and taxes.

I would sure like to give a piece of my mind to whoever came up with the idea that everyone has to purchase uninsured motorist insurance. Though I understand its reasoning, it is totally unacceptable. If I have to purchase and prove ownership of auto insurance then everyone should have to do the same. If they don’t and it is found that they are at fault for an accident causing serious bodily damage then they should go to jail for two years, have their license revoked for five years, as well as their property confiscated and sold to reimburse their victim. It is ridiculous that I have to be responsible and pay for someone else's ignorance and stupidity.

The other side of the coin, taxes. In order to get the title transferred into my name I have to pay county property and tag taxes. I am so sick of tax upon tax upon tax … anymore it’s never ending. No wonder everyone’s getting tired of all the taxes we’re required to pay. Anymore, life is just one big freaking tax collection … it’s out of control!

Like it or not, I have to do what it takes to get the car … unfortunately, it is what it is! Nonetheless, regardless of my opinion it will be good to have wheels again and be able to get back into the swing of things like finding a job, etc. I’m truly looking forward to it! As for my first outing, Sumo and I are going to the beach … we’ve not been able to do this in over a year.
