"Don't Tell Me Who To Love"

Though I am not for same-sex marriage, I had to post this video because it speaks to the very core of what I believe.
For me, the issue isn't about being out and screaming my whoness (ok, its not a word, but I'm sure you get it). The issue is, as long as I'm comfortable in my own skin and know in my heart who and what I am is all that really matters. After all, its really no ones business but mine alone, because at the end of the day and when it's all done and said, I stand alone before Him to render my account for who He has brought me to be.
Love is a gift from God. I do not believe that God tells me that I have to love in any particular way. All that I understand about love is that we are to love each other with all our hearts and in doing so we honor the Giver of love. This also applies to my personal life. It's not important who I love as long as I love that individual with all my heart. It just so happens that I love differently than what is expected and it is those unrealistic expectations that devalues what love is all about.
I was wonderfully and beautifully created and that's what makes me who I am, Philip. He knew me long before I came along. He allowed me to come along. Thus, there is no doubt that He understands why I love and whom I love. Therefore, the lyrics in the video above echoes my conviction that it ain't up to you to label what love is, how to love, and who I can love with. No one has the authority from God down to rob me the right to chose, without guilt, who I love.
